I own a 1994 Ford Taurus which (at the time) was under full bumper to bumper warranty including car-rental. When I had a problem which (was under warranty) I informed them that I would need a loaner car to use until mine was fixed. They referred me to Enterprise Rent-A-Car in northeast Philadelphia. I reminded them that my car and rental were covered under warranty and they confirmed that. Besides, I have it in black and white.
I rented the car and told them to bill Northeast Lincoln Mercury and Enterprise complied. But later, Much much later, about maybe six to eight months later. I decided to rent from Enterprise to take a long trip. Enterprise wouldn't (and still won't) let me rent a car from them because they told me that I have an outstanding bill with them. I was totally sirprised! Then they explained to me that Northeast Lincoln Mercury would not pay for the rental. I then called the dealer and asked them why. They told me that they were unaware that they had to pay for the rental.
I then told them to look over the warranty and they agreed that the auto rental is covered. But stated that they didn't know I wanted them to pay for it at the time. How ridiculous! They referred me to them and they knew that the rental was included! So when I complained the manager said that he would call Ford to see what he could do. Later I got a stupid message on my answering machine stating that because of the length of time that had lapsed (not my fault) they would not pay for the rental at all. And they left me stuck with the bill. I am not paying it. But that only serves to hurt me. They could care less!
