Day 1: My spouse and myself went looking for a work truck, with a limited amount to spend. After a week of searching we happen to go into Automart 150 and said "We're looking for a 4x4 truck w/ext. Cab, mid-size, no color pref. And we only want to spend $8000.00"
The sales rep. (Kevin Marr) went into the managers office and they looked over a list and said they had a truck over in their "Wharehouse". Kevin and another employee left to bring the truck back, along with another car they needed to get.
After a 1/2 hr of getting impatient, the Manager yelled over his partition and said they found a different truck with only 100,000 miles on it, which would be perfect for us.
Kevin finally showed up with a 1999 Black Dodge 4x4. Okay this did not look like a work truck. He came in and I said "I don't want any dodge" Kevin said "just drive it, it's really nice and will work great for you" so we took it for a ride. I again said "I don't want a dodge, they have a bad reputation on the transmissions" Kevin said "THIS TRANSMISSION WILL NOT GO OUT! They only have problems with the smaller trucks" Okay so we got hoodwinked into buying this truck.
On the way home the transmission went out! So we called Automart 150, they told us to call LakeManawa in Council Bluffs, IA 1-800-826-2141 in the morning and ask for Amy.
Day 2: I called and Amy wasn't in, so I called back the next day.
Day 3: Amy gave me a number for a towing company (712-323-8766). I asked her who is paying for this. She said "we'll pay for the towing, but we will have to see what's wrong with the truck first and go from there"
Mechanic said the transmission was gone!
Then all hell broke loose when the General Manager of Lake Manawa came into the room (Chuck Norman) this guy acted like we ripped him off or something, telling me it would cost me $1600 to fix this truck, what the F*. After listening to this A*Hole for about an hour, I told him we would just stop payment on the check. The A*hole laughted and said "Oh that check went through already" So I called my spouse and she called the bank and stopped payment.
Then My spouse called Chuck to let him know that she stopped payment on that check till they fixed the truck. Chuck chewed her a* out said "he would get us for writing a bad check" and he also said "we went onto a bargain lot to get the truck" My spouse informed him "we did NOT go onto a bargain lot, Kevin Marr from Automart 150 left and picked the truck up and brought it back to us!"
We tried to settle this. Chuck said "what if we can come up with a transmission for $250-$300 dollars, would that work?" My spouse said "let me check with (me)" and "how long would the gaurantee be" Chuck said "18 months"
We settled on $300 and he told me he would only guarantee it for 30 days.
Day 4: Amy called us back and said they would not fix the truck untill we came down and paid for the truck and the transmission. I told her Okay, but we didn't have the money for the transmission.
Day 5: Chuck called back yelling "you better get done here and pay for this truck or I will sue you, will be stuck with a truck and NO transmission. You have until 5pm tomorrow. I know that money is in your account and I will get it".
There were numerous phone calls from Automart 150 and Lake Manawa/Nissan. There were also other garbage that came from Chucks mouth. But at this point WE knew we did not want to do business with these people.
Now they are trying to sue us! We need help fast! We do not have the money for this truck!
