Ripoff in the biggest form and fashion!

I was travelling on vacation on a Saturday when my vehicle broke down. I had the car towed to a dealership whose service dept. Was open late. After determining the needed repair Continental Warranty was already closed. Not wanting to delay my already shortened vacation I authorized the repair and then the first thing Monday morning called only to be told it was a covered item but they would not pay anything since it was not preauthorized.

Now we all wish we lived in a perfect world but that is not the case. They say they would have covered 3 days hotel, etc. But when you only have a week of vacation who wants to stay in a hotel, pay for it, rent a car, pay for it to then find out it is not covered? I was not nor am willing to take that chance! I have protested to everyone I know to protest to and the basic attitude on the part of Continent Warranty is that if you don't like it you can cancel at any time you want! Why do we pay for an extended warranty? I am extremely disappointed and it has been 6 1/2 months since my incident and am still continuing to appeal but now cannot get anyone to even answer my e-mails!
