Ripoff failure to repair vechicle

On the 12th of nov my wife and I purchased a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. 48 hrs after purchasing the vechicle we noticed that the vents on the passenger side kicked out cool air when the heat was turned on. After notifing the dealership of the problem they told me to bring the Jeep back after Thanksgiving (the 25th) and someone would fix it. The dealership held the Jeep for 6 days before I had to call and find out what was the status of the Jeep.

They informed me the problem was fixed and I could pick the Jeep up. When I got the jeep back nothing had been done. I called the dealership again and informed them nothing had been done. (they seemed so surprised!). They asked me to bring the vechicle back again assuring me the problem would be fixed, but they had to order the part that had to be replaced and it woukd take two weeks for the part to come in. I waited two weeks, called the dealership, bought the Jeep in because I was told the part would be in (that was on the 15th of dec.)

As of the 19 of dec. The Jeep still isn't fixed, and now the dealership states it does'nt have to fix the Jeep, that they're doing it as a favor to me (ha). Am I protected by the lemon law? And can I get another vechicle because I'm sick of the problem I'm dealing with at this time.
