My Husband and I are stationed here in Hawaii. When we got here we had to walk or get a ride Everywhere so we really needed a car. I was serching Ads and PFLUEGER Honda was willing to come and pick us up which at the time I thought was really nice of them, Now I realize it was so we would need to buy a car and they could keep us there as long as it took. We were there till Midnight!
The car we picked out we found that we couldn't afford it on our pay so we found another one that we like just as much. My husband went down by himself to sign all of the papers since it was going to be in his name. We were REALLY Excited that we were able to get 7% int on our first car loan.
Well His! So we were happy and feeling good about the contract until we were to go back to sign the final papers. The finance person we had been dealing with was misteriously absent and some guy who we didn't know and who didn't know us handed us the papers to sign, so before signing I decided to ask a few more questions when I asked about the interest rate the guy was very surprised and showed me were it was."17% WOW" My husband and I looked at each other and in astonishment and said in unison "No Way".
We showed him the tenative contract that my husband had signed for 7%. Then told them we would be visiting a Jag lawyer and see what we could do about it. So after talking to numerious sales mgrs and supposedly the Owner they said they'd see what they could do. Finally after about 2 month's they got us 10% int. So we finally said Ok and signed, we had already paid $1000.00 down and took ownership.
About 4 months later they call my Husband at work and tell him that they had made a mistake in there accounting and we owed them another $400 on the Down payment. So my husband went down there and nagotiated to pay it in 2 payments a month one out of each payceck till it was payed. So we payed the first two payments that first month.
The next month we get a letter from a collection agency stating that we are delinqent in paying our bill to PFLUEGER Honda and that we need to make payment imediately. So I called the company and was assured that it was all taken care of, of course then they decided to not honor our payment plan and said well we'll give you another month or so to come up with the rest of the money. Like they were doing us a favor or something!
So we payed everything we could except the last $80 of it. Then two weeks later another demand letter from the collection agency arrives saying we still owe the same amount. So I called the collection agency and explained what was going on and they took a report.
This is the first step in my actions against this company because I feel they are scammers and you see I've worked for car dealerships before and Honda so I know how its supposed to go and this isn't it. Honda has a much higher standard for the dealerships that go under their name and this co. Is not meeting that standard!
