After evacuating from New Orleans and attempting to start my life over again in California, I figured I had reached an all time low. Nothing else could possible go wrong? As a matter of fact, things appeared as if they were going to be okay.
My uncle purchased a car for me and the only thing left for me to do was get it delivered from Pittsburg to California. This didn't seem so hard. After all, being without a car while trying to find housing and a job in an unfamiliar state proved to be a more complex task. Getting this car would make my life a lot easier or so I thought.
After checking out a number of auto transporting companies, and searching for the one, which charged the least amount, I discovered A AAAdvantage auto transport. Discovering this company seemed like a blessing to me. After all, I didn't have much money and I was practically living off of my dwindling savings. I called A AAAdvantage and told them of my situation. I explained to them that I needed this car as quickly as possible.
The customer service agent in which I spoke to assured me that A AAAdvantage has fast and reliable truck drivers. However, this agent did not tell me that it would take over a month for my car to be picked up. I was told that the car would be picked up in Pittsburg within 3 days and delivered within 14-16 days. Well, needless to say, like a fool, I believed A AAAdvantage was a reputable company and would uphold their end of the bargain.
I gave this company $1,046 on Sept 21.
On Oct. 21, I found out that my car had never been picked up and it was still at the dealership. Prior to Oct. 21 I was told that my car had been picked up but the delivery truck had broke down on the side of the road. This happened on Oct 15. The customer service rep told me that the car should arrive the week of Oct. 21. However, after speaking with another rep on Oct. 21, I discovered the awful truth. I contacted Ms. Brown, who is one of the managers. She did not return my phone calls. I then contacted other managers who also refused to return my emails or phone calls.
At this point I was up to my neck in lies and I just wanted my car or my money back. Eventually, I spoke with another customer service rep that notified me that my car should be arriving by Nov. 15. This was the best they could do because my car was never scheduled to be delivered by a truck.in other words, A AAAdvantage took my money, and never scheduled it to be delivered!
I called the company again and requested to speak with someone in management. As always, I was connected to the answering machine which no one ever seemed to check, or maybe didn't care about the customers who were calling. This time I left a message notifying A AAAdvantage that I would be hiring another company to comply with my shipping needs. I'd also be contacting the better business bureau, and an attorney. It was as if this was all I needed to do all along. Within a few hours, Ms. Jenkins, the head honcho, contacted me. She assured me that A AAAdvantage was doing their best to assist me. Well, there best simple wasn't good enough. There best meant "give me your money and kiss it goodbye". There best didn't even consist of shipping my car.
Any company who has put an individual through so much drama would quite naturally give a full refund. Well, this did not happen for me. A AAAdvantage charged me a $295 cancellation fee, plus they refused to release my car to the new shipping company. After bickering back and fourth they eventually agreed to release the car, however they did not give me a full refund. I am still without a dime of my money. Is this what companies call customer service these days? Don't let this happen to you.
A AAAdvantage located at 8920 South Hardy Tempe, AZ 85284 is nothing more than a scam. They may never deliver your car but I can guarantee you that they will take you for a ride.
