Complaint / Review
Just Brakes
Ripoff, fraud, rude and dishonest Chandle

On Octber 10 my boyfriend, DK took my car to have new brake pads put on.instead of going to the orginal shop I received my brake job from last time we decided that going to a shop closer to home would be easier on my car and us. He made an appointment and came in on Monday the 10th.

After an hour of them doing a 5 point inspection a man came to my boyfriend stating that I need new rotors, calipers, brake fluid, and brake pads. He went on to explain that do to the department of transportation specs my rotors were to thin to machine and needs to be replaced. He quoted DK $685.00 depending on how long it took.

At once the guy was pressuring DK to sign the agreement so he could begin working on my car. DK wanted to call me and insisted they take the car off the lift so he can get his cell phone to call me before signing anything. When I received his call I almost went through the roof because I knew my car only need new brake pads.in 12,000 miles I wasn't going to have all that damage since this is my weekend sports car. I explained to DK to tell them to put the car back together and I will have you take it to the original shop I took it to. I wanted a second opinion first.

Just Brakes (unfortunately the guy would not give us his name) waited another 45 minutes before the even begining to put my car back together. At this point I decided that calling the company directly would be more effective. Upon calling I received a man asking him if my 2000 Camaro was still there and when it was expected to be fininshed. He immediately got rude and began making excuses as to why all this work need completed. After a long battle I explained that it better be put back correctly and any damage that was cause due to him or is company I would hold him liable. After some arguing which I will spare you the details only because it was so outragous that to repeat it all would take days. The gist of the conversation with both the mechanic and store manager was that I didn't know my car and that my brakes weren't factory but cheap nock offs (after market).

After getting off the phone they put two men on putting my car back together and the mechanic who started it came over to my boyfriend and basically told DK to put me in check and that he's an honest man with a family. Also that I was going to receive bad carma because I was rude.

I called my orginial shop (The Brake Shop) to let them know what was going on. His first response was you took it to Just Brakes didn't you. He checked my records read me my milage and then said he'd fit me in to at least inspect it. (This is the place to go if you want anything done and they will not rip you off ever) Upon DK arriving they began working on it right away. About 30 minutes later he called me to let me know all I needed was new brake pads which they warrantied for life so all I paid for was labor.

Just Brakes came across a knowing customer instead of the many unknowing ones they find and rip off.
I called their corporate office to file a complaint so that the company would actually have proof rather than they charge me to much.instead I received a call back from Bob who said he was sorry but never had any problems from this store before. He then wanted documentation so I said I had it and that is was done by a licensed shop. That wasn't good enough for him he wanted me to return to another Just Breaks and have them inspect it on my time which requires to leave work, wait for the marketing director in Arizona and who's to say that they won't lie. I have not decided whether or not to go through with this because it's a huge hassle and more money out of my pocket.
