On Saturday I entered Les Schwab Tires to have a couple of tires repaired. I asked how much it would be to repair a couple of tires and he said today it will be free. Should have been my first clue something was not right.
I, then took my grandson outside to walk around and noticed the repairman taking off a tire that wasn't even on the repair order. I approached and ask what he was doing, he said repairing the two rear tires. I then said that is not the tire I ask you to repair. He went and looked at the repair order again.
Later he comes and advises me that both tires need completely replaced. One of the tires had just been purchase 6 months earlier. So I went to look at it, and it had been ripped and shining metal was showing of which he tried to tell me was rusted. Since it was the part that goes on the rim I knew I was had. Then was told he could put two used tires on for $20.00 a piece. However, I had just purchase a new one there a couple months earlier for $29.95.
While waiting I started to see a trend, as and elderly lady walked in and was saying how much are the tires? Then they told her she also needed and alignment. She said how can that be I just had one done here. She said can't you pull it up on your computer, they said no, because it was a cash account. She said I know I had it done here and they said unless you have the receipt there is no way to tell you when it was.
A few minutes later another woman said she had been sitting there for hours, trying to get someone from her town to come and pick her up. She lived an hour and a half away. They told her that her rods were bent and the car was unsafe to drive. She had a 5 month old baby and her mother with her. Of course no loving mom would take their newborn in an unsafe car knowingly.
During this time the men who came didn't stay long. They were in and out in no time.infact, I witnessed one man being asked if he wanted to take a ride with the repairman and they even addressed him as "sir".
Just want to put this out there and let them and everyone else know that there are some of us (women) who know that companies like this one are targeting women.
Sad part is I will never do business there again and I will be telling all my friends to consider doing business with another tire company.By the way my husband works in construction and we should be able to get the word out to several of their big accounts.
