Express Tire Convoy Street
Ron Dowling Manager ripoff dishonest dealings failure to tighten all four wheels

1st visit to Express Tire on July 24 to have all four tires rotated and had an oil change done at the same time. While driving to work in La Mesa, driving from the University City area where I live, I was eastbound on the I-8 near the 70th street exit when the driver side rear wheel flew off of the Ford Ranger Truck on July 26,4:30 P.M.in the City of San Diego, Highway 8 eastbound. The truck skidded for about 1/4 of a mile before coming to rest with the rear differential/axle dragging on the highway with sparks flying from the metal to pavement contact. The wheel and tire that flew off of my truck hit several other vehicles in the vicinity and finally came to rest underneath an SUV. Two tow trucks were dispatched to the scene of the accident, 1 two truck was needed to lift the SUV off of the Ford Ranger Truck tire that was stuck underneath the SUV. The other truck was needed to tow the Ford Truck into Express Tire for repair of damage to many suspension components and brake parts that were destroyed. Was in a state of shock for 3 days after this accident and I refuse to drive this vehicle any further due to vehicle pulling to the right hard even after several attempts to correct pulling problem.

Possible frame damage to Ford Truck, rear axle is still leaking, rear wheel is still slightly bent and greatly scratched, very noticible. KEARNY MESA FORD 7303 CLAIREMONT MESA BLVD, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA 92111: Service Advisor George Monroy refuses to do any more work on the Ford Ranger Truck due to civil ligitation concerns. Truck still pulls to the right even though the truck has been worked on once by them and the rear differential is still leaking gear oil on the pavement. Driver side wheel is still bent also from the initial accident caused by Express Tires gross negligence by failure to tighten ALL wheel lug nuts on all four wheels on this Ford Ranger Truck.

I have two separate tow truck drivers witness and inform me that my lugnuts on all four tires were "finger tight" and my aunt&Rachel Barro, arrived at the scene of the accident within 15 minutes to take pictures of my truck and wheel damage. Rachel also witnessed the loose lugnuts on all four wheels.

My truck is not fit to drive and I am still without the use of my truck due to the constant pulling to the right issue caused by this accident.

Kearny Mesa Ford attempted to fix the vehicle pulling to the right by switching the front tires from one side to the other, vehicle still pulls, wheel alignment was checked and verified, frame straightness was said to be "straight" and "undamaged" even though there is a buckle in the frame just ahead of the driver side rear wheel. Kearny Mesa Ford Service department is not equipped to determine frame straightness, ONLY the Kearny Mesa Ford BODY Shop is equipped with a frame rack to verify and check frame integrity. George Monroy could not have checked the frame straightness because he did not have the capability to! Wheel alignment falling within specs as George Monroy has stated does NOT necessarily validate correct vehicle frame straightness or integrity according to several wheel alignment shops in San Diego California, Clarence Brown alignment being one of those shops. EXPRESS TIRE VEHEMENTLY DENIES THAT THE FRAME IS DAMAGED/BENT AND REFUSES TO PAY FOR FURTHER FRAME TESTS AND OTHER WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO MAKE THIS TRUCK SAFE TO DRIVE.

Have attempted many times to resolve this issue with Brian Coburn&Customer Service Representative (personal cell #: 760-535-0188) and he has been very very dishonest, deceptive and unfair in his dealings. Brian refuses to allow me to select the alignment/frame shop to determine frame integrity. Brian Coburns offers to have Beeline Alignment Co., located next door to Express Tire, are not satisfactory because Beeline Alignment is NOT equipped with a frame rack, therefore, satisfactory and complete diagnosis is IMPOSSIBLE.

Express Tire has offered to pay for all necessary repairs IF I agree to have the truck serviced and repair by Beeline alignment. All ESTIMATE repair work must first be authorized by Express Tire, then, I must pay Beeline Alignment Shop directly from my funds. Express Tire will then repay ME for my expenses, ONLY after I agree to sign a full release of liability with Express Tire, incurred thereby negating any liability or warranty issues, because Beeline will become liable for they will do the repair work. A clever way of insulating themselves fully from further liability and simulatneously, not fully paying for/authorizing the correct diagnosis for my particular situation.
