Ripoff CarMaxc sold me a car that CAUGHT ON FIRE NOW THEY WONT FIX IT I NEED HELP!

On October 9 I purchased a vehicle from CarMax. A 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis. It was a previously owned vehicle but they assured me it went through a 120 point inspection, which they also showed me a quality delivery checklist to back up that the car was good. Now I have never had a car before and this was my very first car ever, so I was trying to be cautious.

On October 27 not even weeks after I drove the car off the lot (and paid in cash 16,000) The car started to make noises and wasn't riding right, so I used my Maxcare extended warranty to take the car in.

It turned out the upper and lower balljoints were defective amd the gas tank area was filled with water also the drivers side headlight was loose. This was no big deal to me I figured a used car isn't perfect, even a brand new cars not guaranteed perfect. So CarMax gave me a free rental for the two days it took to fix my car. Then after I got my car back it was seemingly alright. But I was wrong, the car kept having electrical, and engine problems.

Then on March 13. The tie rods were broken along with the radio they installed (this wasnt the first time it had broken) I brought the car in and then CarMax said they would fix it but it would take a few days because they had to order a part. I was supposed to go to Enterprise Rent-a-car and use an authorization code given to me by CarMax and they said they would cover the cost of a rental. A few days turned into weeks then into months.

Finally in the middle of May I got my car back. The radio still wasn't fixed and I had to schedule an appointment for a week later to get it fixed, but that didn't happen. The very next day I was driving my car with my girlfriend in it and we were supposed to go to the movies, but she said she smelled burning plastic and so did I. We thought something was wrong, so we went to my house. Then two minutes after getting out of the car I saw my car on fire in front of my house. I told my girl to "look out the window, the cars on fire!" She thought I was joking, but sadly it was no joke.

The engine was on fire under the right front tire, and we called the fire department. It turned out CarMax had left something under the engine that melted wires and caused the fire. But they wont admit they did anything wrong. The car would not start, or the engine wouldnt even turn over after that. We had to have it towed to CarMax at our expense, but they said they wouldnt touch it. I have tried numerous times to work with them to get this issue resolved but no one will help me. I'm pissed. And to top it off they said they would pay for my rental car and they didn't so I got left with the bill which was over a thousand dollars.

I called better business bureau, a lawyer, no one will help me. Can anyone help me, I just want to be reimbursed or get the exact same car back or something. If anyone can help me please contact me. And anyone from CarMax who has a rebuttal can say whatever they want, no one helped me from CarMax I gave that company so many chances to work together and no one will so I want to take legal action, and I will win.
