Northwest Tire And Service
Ripoff Did not fix my vehicle, broke things inside my vehicle, will not fix items and will not refund any of my money

I had my van towed to Northwest Tire and Service because when I went to take my daughter to school my van wouldn't start. My husband was working a 12 hr. Shift and could not help me. My husband got the first call from Northwest while he was working. Northwest told him that they hooked the van up to the diagnostic machine and that they are going to do a tune up to see if that would help start the van.

A second call from Northwest came in to my husband telling him that the tune up didn't help and that they were going to change the fuel filter. The third call came in from Northwest to my husband saying that "the van runs great when we start it with Either, but we still can't get it started". They suggested other expensive things that they could try to fix it, but at that point my husband had, had it. He called his father in Indiana, who in turn called Northwest. I don't know what was said between Northwest and my father-in-law, but Northwest immediately called my husband and told him that the van was ready to be picked up.

After work my husband picked the van up and after paying and leaving the place of business he noticed that the ashtray (which neither of us use - we don't even smoke) was broken and just hanging there. Also our glove box that sits on the dashboard in the middle of the van was broke. He immediately went back to Northwest to show them what they did. The manager wrote on a business card that he would replace the compartments and that he would call the next day.

The van made it home that night, but the next morning when I went to take my daughter to school the van wouldn't start. Again, my husband was working a 12 hour shift so not only did my daughter have to miss another day of school, I had to call my father-in-law, who drove all the way from Indiana to come and help us.

Finally, my father-in-law started the van and took it to a reputable garage in Saginaw to have it fixed the right way. I tried to file a complaint against Northwest with my charge card, but because the second garage wouldn't comment on the matter (because he never say the original parts) they wouldn't refund my rip off. The credit card company said I was ripped off, but without the second letter couldn't do anything.

We've written letters and called Northwest about the broken compartments. They claim that they can't find any replacement parts. Also, they admitted that they did not run any computer diagnostics, but they did a "visual" diagnostic. They did a "visual" diagnostic for $67.00?!!? They said that they would refund the $67.00, but I haven't seen it and it's been over two months now. I've filed a complaint with the better business bureau, I written several letters to the store in Saginaw and the corporate headquarters, but still have not received any compensation nor an acknowlegement. I paid $379.63 for my van not to get fixed and they broke stuff inside.

If anyone has any suggestions how to get my money back and to get the compartments fixed please help.
