Today (July 6) is the 7th day that I have been without a car as First Extended continues to refuse to approve the repairs to my car which has been at Saturn of Austin since 8 am June 30.
When contacted on the telephone, First Extended maintains that I have not been denied service — they maintain that Saturn of Austin has failed to provide all required information via Fax. Saturn of Austin feels they have sent the requested information.
In the meantime, I am past age 80, live alone, and I am without a car to go for groceries at the nearest store which is a mile away. First Extended says they will approve the rental of an Enterprise car once the service plan is approved by First Extended.
When I purchased this Saturn LS2 on August 31,1999, I was NOT offered a choice of the Saturn extended warranty or the First Extended warranty. Saturn of Southwest Oregon (Medford) maintains that they sold me a warranty that is better than the Saturn warranty.
I encountered similar delaying tactics by First Extended back in 2002 when I was forced to stop at the Saturn dealer in Wilkes-Barre (PA) while driving from New York City to Austin, Texas.
