Basically, All Pro Automotive said I could pay in one given matter and then on day of picking up vehicle, said no.
I had an agreement for $2456.61 to have a used engine placed into my 96 Chevy Beretta. I was strapped for cash, and was recieving financial help from Chicago.
I was told we could pay via CC over the phone. (cash advances on CC's are rather pricey/@20 something %) All Pro Said "ok".
On day of pick up, girl named Tiffaney calls their main office and is informed payment cannot be accepted in such a manner.
We ended up having to do the cash advance and use a cashiers check.
Secondly, the car, had a rattling noise, mechanic tells me it's rust behind the Ac unit and will go away. I was under the impression he knew what he was talking about.
By the way, I am mechanically inclined and know something about cars.
Enroute back to Chicago with car, (I was moving back)... Car now overheats up in GA. I am a good way up the road, and to top it off... Rust water is coming out of motor.
I had car checked at my mechanic in Chicago and told there is probably air pockets in engine compartment, due to new block designs, so it would need a flushing and the cap was bad on the resivior.
That same evening... That rattling I mentioned, which never went away, ended up being the AC compressor. It locked up, ripped my belt in two as well.
Any mechanic worth his weight would have known what was going on with the compressor.
When car was completed at my mechanic, an additional $1300.00 had been spent, a good amount of rusted, mucky fluid pulled from motor, and my feeling that All Pro isn't worth the time or money given to them.
