Exceptional Auto Sales
Ripoff sold and inoperable car that the company had no proof of ownership for

On February 28, I purchased a 1996 Ford Taurus (VIN: 1FALP52U8TA244473) from Exceptional Auto Sales (Dealer #V132813) for $2,452.80. Within one and a half weeks the car was diagnosed with having extensive engine problems. I contacted Aaron Hakim (owner) about the problem and would not offer any support to help me with fixing the problem. He said that he was not obligated to continue to talk to me. I continued to contact Aaron Hakim (owner) for approximately one month and he continued to hang the phone up in my face.

After being neglected by this dealer I decided to purchase a car from a reputable dealer and to sell the 1996 Ford Taurus purchased from Exceptional Auto Sales. I found someone who was willing to purchase the car for $1,000 from me and make the necessary engine repairs (as I let him know what was wrong with the vehicle).

When this individual was ready to purchase the car, the title was still not available to me from Exceptional Auto Sales and Aaron Hakim. I contacted Aaron Hakim the last week of April asking for him to provide me with the title so that I can get the car off of my hands. He said that it would take him two weeks to get the title transferred over to him. I stated to him that if he actually owned the vehicle he should have the title. He should have contacted the DMV to acquire the title information before selling the car. He hung up the phone in my face.

Because this situation sounded suspicious, I decided on May 19 to contact the Altamonte Springs Police Department to see if the car was stolen by Aaron Hakim and Exceptional Auto Sales. Sheriff, Donald F. Eslinger reported to my home. He ran a check on the car and found out that Exceptional Auto Sales and owner, Aaron Hakim had not even had the car registered in my name. According to the purchase contract I paid Exceptional Auto Sales $125 to have the car transferred in my name. So, Sheriff Eslinger decided to call Aaron Hakim to find out where exactly the title was for the car. He offered no definite answer even to an officer of the law.

So, I spent one week driving a vehicle that was not registered in my name. This dealer not only conned me out of $2,452.80 he prevented me from legitimately selling the car to acquire some of my losses back.
