My husband and I purchased a minivan from Greatest Deals On Wheels about 2 years ago and had a positive experience so we went back to purchase another vehicle. We purchased a 1993 Ford Explorer and when we came back an hour later to take the vehicle home, they assured us that the car would pass inspection. We drove 2 hours back to NYC only to be told that the car won't pass because it needed a brand new muffler. I thought maybe the mechanic was trying to rip us off but when he placed the vehicle on the lift I couldn't believe what I saw!!!
The whole muffler was coming off the support hinges and there were holes in it the size of grapefruits. After much complaining, they agreed to make the repairs but my husband was so frustrated he decided to have a friend who's a mechanic do the work instead. About 6 months later we fell onto some hard times and couldn't make some payments, well Steve made sure that our friends knew by calling and harrassing them, when there were only references that we gave them on our application. They then took the car away for 840.00 of late payments in the middle of the night, but not without taking all of my husbands equipment for his business!
When we came the next day they claimed they had none of the items in question. We saw two gentlemen jumping into our vehicle and driving away but Steve states he didn't know anything. Now we are out 5-7 thousand dollars of video equipment and no car. If there are any lawyers out there reading this please let us know if we have a case and NEVER go to Greatest Deals On Wheels. Not only did they rip us off from the beginning, but they also stole from us.
