Just Brakes
Con Artists that try to Rip you off

I took my car over to Just Brakes on my lunch hour the other day to have my brakes replaced. My usual mechanic (who is very fair and honest) was booked for the next couple of days, and Just Brakes told me that they could have my brakes done within a few hours for $99.88.

I left my car there to go eat lunch with my colleague who was waiting in the parking lot. The lady KJ was insistent that I "hang around" to go through the brake inspection.

I told her that would not be necessary, and to just call me before they do any work.

Not even ten minutes later, I receive a phone call from KJ.

Here is the just some of the B.S. That she tells me over the phone.

"Both of your rear cylinders are leaking and your rear wheel brakes are not working at all" Since your rear wheel brakes are not functioning your front brakes are doing all the work, this has caused your front calipers to freeze up, and you are basically driving with the brakes on all the time" You need new rotors, new calipers, two new rear wheel cylinders, four new shocks" Total $1,200

I was outraged. I told her to put my car back together, and that I would be coming to pick it up in 15 minutes. She tries to keep me on the phone by saying we don't have to do this and that, and has gotten it down to $400 just to get my "rear brakes working properly"

I know at this point that it is just a con, and I am infuriated. I tell her to stop trying to sell me this crap and just put the wheels back on my car.

I get there and they haven't done a damn thing to put it back together. I ask the two shop employees what they are doing just standing around, and they tell me that they were instructed not to put it back together yet, because I would be changing my mind; more B.S.

My car was at the dealership just two weeks earlier and they were the ones that told me that I needed new brake pads soon. How convenient for all of these parts to go out at since that time.

I took my car to my mechanic the next week and he said that all I need was new front pads.

I asked about the rear brakes, and he said that they were working properly, the just needed to be re-adjusted.

This company is full of con artist, and used car salesman types.

They will try to sell you on stuff that you do not need and try to dazzle you with brake parts lingo, but it is all just one big scam.

Please do not take your car to this crooks, you will regret it.
