Paid All Cash ($13,000.00) for a 2002 preowned F-150 (vin. 1ftrx18w32na74665) supercab white 4x4 pickup on Dec 23.
I took the truck to a window tint shop to have windows tinted, sony radio with wire harness and mounting kit installed, bug shield installed, vent visor also installed, blue lights installed, and nerf bars also, and purchased some floor mats also. Approx. I spent another $1,000.00 dollars on it also.
To only find out that the frame of the truck. At the rear of driver side of rear had been torn out with a tow hook and, the passenger side rear still had the tow hook still wedge in it.
The shop started working on the truck to do the work I was to have done. When they called me to come look under the hood where clips where missings that holds the shourted (cover over the fan and water coolant cover clips were missing) in place.
When the shop tried to install the neft bars (black wheel to wheel) that cost $365.00. Which would normally take less than an hour to install. It took just a couple of hours. Because because they had to bend the under carriage back to be able to install the nerf bars.
After having the truck less than a week I drove to Dallas to Walnut Hill Ln. And back to Grapevine. Round trip appox. 35 miles. On the way back I notice the check engine light was flashing and would turn off. It started flashing again so i'd started to count the flashes 38 times stop and flash agian 38 times.
Then the truck started to go wack. The front end started to bounce as if the front end was screwed up. So I limped home on Hwy. 635. And, then it started to act as it was having a power loss. I made it home that night. That morning to find out that I had losted both front hub caps and a vent visor, from the vibertion.
That Monday I took the truck back to preowned cars and the sellman. Whom has done everything possible to help me. He's been the only reason I've been cool so far. He got right on it. At 10:30 A.M. I arrived and by 11: oo A.M. My truck was at Classic service to have it checked out and the front end to be alignment to be done and engine light checked out and to remove the tow hook from the rear of the truck.
Letting them know that I haven't even put 300 hundred miles on the truck yet... Well, that evening my truck wasn't ready yet and for me to wait, and it would be right out. 6:30 P.M. I recieved the truck back and was told to test drive it and get back to them.
I have also ran a car check history to find nothing but, the emession had failed and a loan against the truck. And to find on the paper work, that it was a demono.
So I asked what was done to it? The answer I got was they balance and rotated the tires (A BAND-AID). Meaning here that should sloved it. And That they don't have the equipment to do an anglinment to it. And I'd have to bring it back to check out the flashing check engine light. So nothing had been done ot it and here's your band-aid. Thank you.
So, I drove it to my home and straight back to only to be locked out. And my jeep to be locked up for the night. So again, I took it back and left it now going on a week later. Waiting for my truck still. And not one call to me to let me know of what going on and when it would be ready... Sevice a classic chevrolet is a Band-aid service. The sellman has put me in a loaner car sence I called and asked them for one..
Now, going on into three weeks now. Waiting only 4 days and no calls or even an answer back from when I called and left messages on what's the deal. Going up there Saturday eveing and finding out that they still don't know anything and that it was at five star ford clear across town 30 miles approx. One way. Also to get back them Monday morning and go from there.
Now after speaking with serveral car dealers and my insurance company... I've been advised to get my my money back or be placed in a new truck of my choose...
Well, it's Monday morning now. And I'm taking the kids to school and headed to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Texas Again. I'm writing this to inform this site and others of what's going on and I will responsed back to let the consumer know of the out come of my purchasing a truck in cash of $13,000.00 and the $1,000.00 of extra I'd had installed.
Wish me luck. A man without a $14,000.00 investment from Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Texas 76051.. That isn't worth one cent $. 01 with a torn frame.
