I have been a long time LivingSocial user but I just cannot risk doing any more deals after my latest experience. I bought a Voucher for interior painting of one 12x12 room so that I could repaint a bedroom prior to renting to new tenants. After the voucher became available I immediately contacted the merchant as described on the "how to redeem your voucher" instructions provided. After not receiving a call or email back in a few days I tried contacting them again. No response for 18 days when I finally got an email late on a Sunday night explaining that their is no openings in December (I contacted originally on 15 November) and that the first availability isn't until January. Well I certainly can't wait that long to get my renters into the home but I find this even more strange that the expiration date is in March so if you have deadlines like that then the merchant should be readily available to support the purchaser needs as soon as possible. I don't find 6 weeks to be an acceptable timeline. Anyways, I asked for a refund due to the inability to meet my needs and was told by livingsocial that a refund can only be received within 1 week. Well that would have been fine if the merchant had gotten back to my repeated attempts of contact within 1 week. If it takes the merchant 18 days to get back to the customers then how is it possible to know that you will need a refund? Thanks for a good run livingsocial but I can't afford to just GIVE my money away because you deal with irreputable merchants and don't stand behind your customers. I won't be dealing with livingsocial ever again!!!
