They don't care about their employees

For those upset by Wal-Mart I feel for you no matter what you hardships with the company is. I was an employee for almost two years. I actually worked for three different stores. I started in Inverness, Florida. The nicest of the stores I have ever seen. Then I went to Bloomington, Indiana. Which was not as great as the florida location but they were alot nicer. Last and terribly least the Bedford, Indiana store. Not a sexist or anything but the store is run by a majority of women. The store manager was a woman with a constant attitude. She was rude and outright strange. There was three assistant managers that were men but they all started to leave taking demotions at other stores just to get away from the store manager. I had lost my daughter in late 2003 and walmart had raised money from employess to help us with the burial. They also filed a claim with the associate in need fund. As much as WE didn't want it they gave it to us anyway. Come to mind that my fiance and I both worked there. Christmas Eve 2003. The store manager was a real B—. My fiance was asking for help but was constantly lied to and then with the supervisor (ICS team leader) did not like her. So the ICS team leader and a department manager went to the store manager and made a lie that she was back there cussing everyone out. Didn't happen but the store manager did not want to follow the OPEN DOOR POLICY. So she was not heard and then was told 'I met some really ungrateful people in my life but you take the cake' That was referring to them helping us out when we lost our child. Myself was constantly in turmoil with the ICS team leader and the store MGR. I could not turn and cough without them telling me to get back to work. For get trying to help a customer to make the company look better because you would be told to get back to work. Now they are working on getting rid of me. Not to mention I'm the only black person in the store for the past 5 years. I had to help another store in ripping up carpet and I rode with someone else. A VW dune beetle with no insurance and illigal plates. Oh did I mention the no gas gauge. We ran out of fuel three times and I was told by one store that I can drive my own car and get paid milage. So I did that. $180 in milage and when the job was done I went back to work at my store. Not only did they shorted me by 90 hrs but they wanted me to pay back the mileage. I called the district manager to complain and he said to me in a snotty i'm-the-big-man 'Are you the one we bent over backwards when you lost your daughter?' Surprisingly I kept my cool and told him the situation. Not only did he not let me get passed the first sentence he accused me of cussing and calling the store mgr degrading names. Well one that is childish. I hung up on him and called corperate office. I would keep callng just to be told they will call me back. Three months now still no call. Collecting unemployment. But for those who want to work at Wal-mart I'd say forget about the one in Bedford Indiana. They will make your life a living hell especially if you don't 'fit-in' You must be a caucasion couple and you must say to yourself as they wrongfully call you names or start conflict, 'I will not do it again.' I have noticed that most stores are really tight and do not treat their employees with respect. They say open door policy and that is 'You can come to my office and tell me everything then I will call you a liar and tell everyone who is not involved everything or make up a lie if I was in the wrong.' Which they did about me tlling everyone I went to overnights. They have return policies yes but have you ever read the back of the McAfee Anti-virus? It says return to store with reciept for a full refund. If you do that they will let you exchange it for the same thing. If you wanted Norton you are screwed because it costs $10 more. Bedford store was a major fire violation. Product blocking doors, alarms not working. Then not to mention the back up sewer in the Radio Grill. The roof leaked and there are buckets everywhere when it rains. There are places where the tile is missing and carpet is humped. They are due for a new store but d— does it take so many people to get hurt to do that? I have to admit though they are fuctional to an extent but they still suck in some areas of customer service because the customer is not always right. Even if it was a defective item they consider that you did break it. If anyone has gone through something similar to my situation please respond to me please I would like more info on Wal-Mart 'Where the Customer is the boss'
