My co-workers and I went to the Applebees on Kingston Pike in Knoxville for lunch on 6/22 for the 12-minute lunch. This deal is advertised on the billboard, 12-minute lunch or it's free, as well as on the menu and posted throughout the restaurant. We ordered our meals, each from the 12-minute menu, meals took 20 minutes to arrive. When we questioned the manager, Starmie Steele, she stated that we had to order from the 12 minute menu to get the deal, we told her we did. She then stated that a timer had to be placed on the table in order for the deal to be in effect. We asked her where that was posted/written, since our waitress never mentioned it, and certainly did not place a timer on our table. The manager told us that there wasn;t room for everything on the ad. We have been going there once weekly for the past couple of months, have ordered from the 12-minute menu, have received orders in 12 minutes, have never had a timer on our table, and have never been told we had to have a timer for the 12-minute lunch deal. The guarantee was not met as our meals were not received in 12 minutes, were not free (false advertising). Additionally, the service was horrible - we did not get refills on tea, had to re-request a to-go box, and the manager was rude. Guess we will be going elsewhere for lunch
