El Chapala-Enka Candler Location
Allows customers to physically assault other customers!

Every Friday approximately 6-10 coworkers, ages 20-60, and I all ate at this establishment until the incident that I intend to describe happened. Each week our bill totaled up to $100.00. We all work in an office setting and are by far not a "big and burly" bunch!

This past Friday we went for our regular meal. About 3/4 of the way through our meal, two young females with a small child were seated behind us. I had not paid any attention but apparently at some point they began to make rude, offensive comments about members of our table that were overhead by several members or our party.

The coworker seated closest to me, heard them and informed us all that she was "ready to leave, NOW." She didn't really tell me what was going on but as we left the table, it became abundently clear. As we filed past the table with the two young "ladies" (and I use that term very loosely) proceeded to catcall and make statements such as "Yeah, keep walking B#@$@" to each and every member of our party. They got louder and louder and soon were making quite a scene.

As we went to the front to pay our bill we just tried to ignore them because honestly, we were totally in the dark as to what exactly their problem was with us. The oldest member of our party that day was in her fifties and she had to go back to the table to leave a tip. She didn't want to go back by herself so I said that I would go with her. As we went back to the table they started again and I turned around and asked her what exactly her problem was.

The smallest one, who was about 5'2" tall (I am 5'10") ran up and began jumping up and down to get in my face which honestly I found just a little comical! She kept on and I just looked at her and saw this was going nowhere fast and informed her that she was a redneck and disgusting at that and should take a seat at her table. This entire incident has occured in front of a waitress, a busboy, AND the manager. I turned around to walk off and the little girl ran up and hit me in the back of the head.

Many other customers saw this happen. I really wanted to turn around and hit her back but I have a little class and found that to be totally inappropriate to happen in front of her child, my coworkers and least of all I still didn't know what the heck it was all about. At this point I don't care! I walked straight over to the busboy and told him to get the manager and have him call the police. He went to the back and we stood at the front waiting on him to come and speak with us.

After waiting about 10 minutes, he had yet to come to the front and I went looking for him. He asked me what I wanted him to do and I told him he needed to march her out the front door. I was completely appalled that he was going to continue to let her sit there and finish her 10 dollar meal as if she had done nothing wrong. He said, "Well, I talked to her, I don't know what else you expect me to do." I then let him know that no member of our party would be eating in his establishment ever again. He was worried that if she was made to leave, she would not pay for her meal! He made ten dollars that day but will never make $100 off of us again!

Another customer approached us and told us that the girls were looking for a fight as they came in. He said that he had heard them as they came through the door talking about starting some sort of trouble.

Long story short, unless you like eating in a low class place that allows customers to physically assault one another, then don't eat at El Chapala again. The manager is named Zak Gomez and is totally inefficient at maintaining order in his establishment.
