Laptop was left unattended for under 10 minutes. I take the blame for leaving the laptop unattended. However, I expected the Galley Restaurant to be willing in filing a complete police report.
When the police arrived the manager of the restaurant could not produce her ID and kept on yawning in the cops face. Very unhelpful staff.
After paying over $100 for our meal, I would expect the manager to be more than willing to provide identification and proper details to the authorities.
The owner of the restaurant, who calls himself Captain Ron, called me the following day.instead of apologizing first hand or asking what happened, he was rude and tried to lay the blame on me for "accusing" his staff of taking the laptop. I never pointed any fingers. The police ended up searching one of the employees cars because he switched his story throughout the night.
It is an oxymoron that their tagline is "Restaurant with a Heart" when staff rolls their eyes and is unwilling to help file a complete police report. Stay Away from the Galley in Santa Monica! Buyer Beware!!
