Ripoff, bad service

I really feel ripped off and stomped on from this place, again! So now i'm advising all others, stay away and spend your money elsewhere.

I gave my husband his choice on where he would like to have dinner for his birthday. He chose Lonestar.

Lonestar had been our regular hang out for the past few years but things are progressively worsening (aloof, inexperienced staff and food quality & prep) so we have been dining elsewhere for the past three months. (Should have kept it that way.)

We enter in a good mood, looking forward to this special dining experience. I ordered the Amarillo Cheese Fries to start, and for dinner I order the Filet and Shrimp, medium well. My husband orders the Five Star Filet, well done, and he requests they butterfly it.

The fries arrive, lacking bacon. We ask that it be put on there like it traditionally is so the waitress comes back with our platter, cold fries & hot loose bacon on the top. Ok, so that's not really a big deal but she asks "would you like me to heat that up?" We said it was ok and not to worry about it. (Did she have to ask in the first place?)

We ask for Texas Ranch, to go with the fries and 15 minutes later we had to ask again and she brought out something that looked and tasted like, thousand Island dressing. We pointed this out to her and she replied " well perhaps this Texas Ranch is different from the other Lonestars that you have been to". I told her i had never seen that at ANY Lonestar branch before.

Next, my husbands salad arrives. It has on it, literally, 5 tiny shreds of cheese. This is not the kind of service we fondly remember Lonestar for and I can see things did not get better, but worse!

Dinners come and our steaks are medium and medium rare. They were fatty and knotty and i don't think the cook (or the waitress) even knew what butterflying a steak meant. We had them both sent back and we just weren't happy. The manager came over for about 60 seconds and offered us free dessert, i thought that was nice, but the obvious condition of our steaks, i really felt she should have done more, i mean we were there spending $70 and our dinner was totally ruined.

I too am in a business where the customer is a priority and i feel all she had to really say was "What can i do to make this right?" In that, i would have felt better but in the end she left us with these knotty, overcooked steaks and just blew us off.

Well, never again.
