I called McDonald's delivery in Cairo (19991) prior to 5:00 pm today, gave my order, my address (which is in the system), and was assured my order would be to me in 30 minutes. At 5:40, I called again, and was told that he was on his way and would be at my home in 5 minutes. At 5:45 I received a call from the delivery person asking my address (which is on record, is on the delivery slip). I told him (he only speaks Arabic, and I speak very little Arabic). He said fine. I began receiving missed calls from the delivery person at 5:47. I called customer service again at 6:00 and they said they would call him and ask him to deliver the food now.
I asked if they wanted food that was an hour old (he didn't seem to understand the problem at all, continuing to say, "What's the problem? I will call and have him deliver to you now.")
I suggested they take the food back, as I don't want fries and a Big Mac that was made over an hour ago. He offered to have the delivery person come back and get other food (which I'm sure wouldn't happen) and then bring that after another 1/2 hour to an hour. I ordered food at 4:00 because I was hungry then. If i wanted to eat at 7pm or after, I would have ordered at 6:30.
I quit using Otlob (online ordering) because I thought the problem was Otlob for delivery (took 2 hours with McDonald's). Obviously, there is a problem with both Otlob and McDonald's.
I don't understand what is so difficult. They deliver at my school every day almost. They have delivered to me a number of times at the school. It seems so simple, and they make it so complicated.
