I'm an employee of this company and, after many attempts to correct this through my management to no avail, have decided to publicize it to get the changes necessary made.
I have been working at the Friendlys in Westerly, RI since December. I love my job and work as hard as possible. My standards are high and I don't appreciate the way the coworkers are there.
I have seen 5-6 times, cooks dropping food on the floor, to just pick it up and send it out to the customers. I have seen them undercook the food to get it out fast and also cook food early, just to reheat it later in the day. Even make bacon, for instance, early in the morning and still be serving it later in the evening.
I've spoken to my managers about it but they turn a blind eye to it, due to the people being here for years upon years. The management staff and most of the employees are "buddy buddy" and thereby, no punishment would be handed out, nor enforced. I'm sick and tired of it and want the changes necessary to bring the restaurant back to where it was.
I would leave and go somewhere else but where? In this market, I'm glad to have a job and I even have 2-3 of them going as we speak, just to make ends meet. I'm not some dumb person who is in this just for money. I take pride in my work and feel others should be held to the same standards that I put out there too.
