On August 1st of this year my son ordered some food from Schwan's through their free food promotion. We found out about this at the bargainist website: http://www.bargainist.com/freebies/.
He ordered the box of 4 - 10oz chicken pot pies that were listed on their website at $9.89. The promotion stated that any purchase was free if the order was less than $10.00.
On August 5th a Scwan's employee called to say that he was in the neighborhood and would drop off the food in a few minutes. When he arrived at the door he said that there was a price increase and I had to pay additional money to receive the food. Unfortunately I paid the extra money. Then I checked the website and the catalog that was delivered with the food. The price was still $9.89.
An e-mail was sent to the company through their feedback page. I think that e-mail was sent on the 6th. They have not yet responded. Either the company encourages this activity or does not care how their customers are treated.
