Mt Vernon's Should Never Threaten Customers Baltimore Maryland

On Thursday January 22 at around 10:45 PM I placed a carry out order via telephone to Never On Sunday. The girl I spoke with impatiently took my order and hurried me off the phone. I didn't think much of it considering it is the norm when I call this establishment late in the evening. I arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes later to find my food packaged and ready to go. I paid the young lady for my order and left.

I Arrived back at my home about five minutes later and started unpacking my food. I noticed the loaded fries I ordered were undercooked and so was the bacon that covered them, also it lacked the sour cream that the menu stated it came with. My girlfriend and I decided that we did not want to eat them. Being that it was around 11:30pm at this point I did not want to go back for a replacement, and I felt a refund was in order.

I called them and the gentleman who answered the phone claimed to be the manager, I told him my problem with the food his response was Awwwwwe (Mocking a Childs Voice) sure whatever buddy than he hung up the phone with out any other exchange of information. I called back and he answered again I told him that I didn't appreciate being hung up on and that I thought it would be best if I came for my refund in the morning. He told me that if I wanted my money back I needed to come in right then, I said fine I'm coming right now.

I arrived back at the restaurant within ten minutes to find him and one of the male employees waiting for me behind the register with my refund sitting on the counter. I sat the unwanted food on the counter and in front of his entire staff he again mocked me with a Childs voice and said, here is your $4.53 then him and a few others behind the counter chuckled at me.

At this point I was disgusted with the treatment I was receiving. I asked him for his bosses name and in response he accused me of being on drugs. I'll admit after that accusation I kind of lost my cool and told him that I though he was an A*hole and he needed to set a better example of customer service for his employees.

After I made that statement he started throwing what ever was in his reach at me from behind the counter as I scurried towards the door in fear of being hurt and the manager said You better run before I lock these doors and kick the sh* out of you. You better be careful and watch your back.

The next morning (Jan 23) I called Never On Sunday in hopes of contacting the owner but could only get someone named NicK who claimed to be the owners son. I explained my story to him and told him I felt an apology was in order as well as a full refund considering that eating was the last thing I wanted to do after returning from his establishment threatened and humiliated. I even have all the food untouched sitting in my fridge.

Nick told me I would not be receiving a refund and I was not given an apology, instead Nick questioned my story and me. He said he had not spoken to the night manger or anyone on shift yet. It became obvious that to me that he had caught wind of the situation considering the first question he asked me was if I was using drugs. I explained to him that I do not ever use drugs nor was I consuming any alcohol. It's obvious that the night staff has created their cover story. Nick also justified the manager's actions of throwing things at me because I called him a name, than said How do I know you didn't threaten him first or throw something at him?

You would like to believe that in 2009 if a customer threatened staff and started throwing things in a business it would be policy for the on duty manager to contact police immediately or at least contact their boss, not to further provoke the subject with a thug mentality. I asked Nick to review the security tapes because that would reveal I was telling the truth. I was hardly surprised when Nick informed me that the security cameras in the restaurant were fake. Nick refused to give me the name of the night manager who he said was a member of his family and also refused to give me any contact information for the owner.

At this point the only thing more appalling than their customer service is the lack of concern the have for their employees. Seriously what establishment open until 3am in downtown Baltimore has fake cameras? What a joke. The liquor store right next door was robbed at gunpoint only weeks ago in broad daylight.

It is my calculation that they still owe me $13.23 PAY UP!

In conclusion here is my review of the restaurant.

Quality of food: mediocre
Professionalism of Staff: Poor
Professionalism of Management: Extremely Poor
Professionalism of Owner: Pending
Overall experience: Worst I've ever had.

I'm more than positive that with the hotheaded management team that runs that place there are more than several patrons and employees or X employees out there that can back up my accusations. SPEAK UP

Re train or re staff your management, or relocate we don't need you in Mt. Vernon
