We contacted Marcus the owner of Feast Catering, on or about March 15th and scheduled his company to provide catering services for our daughters sweet 16 event to be held on Saturday June 7th. After speaking to him and selecting our menu, he told us that he needed a $2,500 deposit upon our initial consult, which we paid by check. He also instructed us to stop down at his office a week prior to the event to pay the remaining balance of $1,649.86 which we paid him cash.
On that Saturday morning, my wife contacted his office to verify the time he was showing up to our event. She she received a voice recording, in which she left a message. Our event was scheduled for 3:00pm. At about 1:00pm, we still have not heard from Marcus or his staff. I immediately drove down to his office, only to be shot down by a locked door. We now were scrambling to get a hold of him. NOTHING...
Both my wife and my daughter were in tears. I frantically called another a local Pizza shop to drop off wings, pizza, salads, ans sodas. You could imagine the embarrassment my family faced at a formal white collar event, serving pizza.
The following Monday, I contacted Marcus. He stated that he got mixed up and had the wrong day listed on his personal calendar. Keep in mind this is well documented on my contract which stated Saturday June 7th 10:00am set-up with our menu.
He refuses to give me my money back, and is telling me that I can use that towards another event with his company. I 'am in the process of taking his company to small claims count.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MARCUS BAIRD AT FEAST CATERING
