I am a district manager for waffle house in the charlotte NC area. I know all want to hear what really goes on behind the curtains at Waffle House. Here is the entire story.
First we will start with Management. Not one Manager at any waffle house in the Charlotte markent is formley trained. All are cooks, or servers, that have been thrown into postion, I call them cooks with keys, now saying that, I warn all people not to eat in any Waffle House in the greater Charlotte area, this includes, Gastonia, Kings mountain, Bessmer city, lincolnton, Huntersvill, Couneilous, etc. Lets talk about food saftey. There is none.
Managers, cooks, and servers are just plain nasty. Most of our employees live in unsanitary conditions, Trailer parks, Low rent motels, and some live on the street, with no means of showers or clean clothes. Have you ever noticed how dirty all the employees look and smell? Now all these employees, never, I mean never, wash their hands. They will smoke and serve you without washing hands, they will use the restrooms and serve you, they will blow there nose on the floor and serve you, scratch body parts, play with hair, handle raw foods, and then touch cooked items, handle money and then serve you, all this is happening and no hand washing. Most times there is no soap or clean paper towles to do so any way.
The dishes you are eating from are not clean. Employees just rinse off and run through a so called sanitizer, that never reaches tempature, so your eating someone elese germs. POH foods are left out over night on the floor in commisary to thaw, in the tempeture danager zone well over 4 hours, and they serve it to you and your family. Roaches and rats run wild in all the waffle houses.
The area manager David Watson does not care, The owners Todd Miller will not spend the money to bring the waffle houses up to standard, for example David watson was given 3 chances to bring up to par the waffle house on South Blvd in charlotte, to rid the places of roaches, repair floors, repair all coolers, fix the sanitizer, he ignored the warnings of the Health department saying todd miller (the Owner) did not care no money would be invested. Needless to say the Health Department Shut it down. That was a blessing, Everyone who ate their was in danager of Food poision or worse. Any one eating at a waffle house is putting themselves in danger. Please be carefull when choosing waffle house to feed yourself and your family.
Now lets get into discrimination. These waffle houses have no training for Employees for discrimination, actually it is over looked by management everyday, because they are doing it themselves. I have seen mostly african American, hispanic, and gays discriminated on a daily bases. African americans, and Hispaincs, Will be served last to any white customers for the reason, all employees say they are rude, will not tip, and just dont like to serve N — 's. Hispanics you dont know how to speak english. That is just plain trailer people. Gays you are laughed at and talked about the entire time your in the restaurant, I have seen cooks spit in your food and call you a damn faggot.
I do not accept any of this behavior, but The area manager David Watson, the Division Manager Sylvia Chambers, and The owner Todd Miller do. Todd only for the fact he will not replace David, or sylvia, butch manning, or Danny Barnhardt. Please for your the saftey of you and your family, do not eat at waffle house. Any one who feels they have been discrminated or feel ill from any waffle house in the Charlotte Area you are correct.
