Manager steals tips to put gas in his Chevy Suburban

The manager of this Coldstone steals tips to put gas in his Chevy Suburban. The employees always complain how they don't get paid enough and how they receive few tips despite the jar being full.

In the days after hurricane Katrina I saw very few large SUVs in the parking lot. I saw the manager get out of a Suburban. I could tell it was the manager as I have seen him there before.

Since Coldstone mainly employs teenagers, someone older in a Coldstone uniform would likely be management. Typically teenagers do not drive large SUVs.

With gas at over $3 a gallon the only way someone in his position could have filled up the 31 gallon tank was to steal from the tip jar. Later that day I saw him at a nearby gas station. When I walked by his pump I saw that he had $85 of gas into his tank.

While I was in line (I bought a mug) behind him I saw him pay with a bunch of coins and single dollar bills. It took forever for him to count the money.

Most people pay for gas with credit cards. Those who pay with cash often use $20's and $10's. Seeing this made me very suspicious.

Later I still hear that he's stealing tips. They are still being used for gas (despite the fact that the price receded-somewhat).

This is wrong. The tips belong to the workers. If you can't afford the gas, don't buy the truck!
