On our last night in Ocean City, we decided to try this restaurant.
We got there around 10pm on Tues. One hour before closing.
Besides our family of four, there were three other parties dining; one was a large group of about twelve adults (male/female) seated near the rear of the restaurant. The food was rather good, but that was all that was positive about this restaurant.
As the evening progressed, this group became really loud, as if they were in a baseball stadium, Yes, they were really drunk and cursing up a storm. Food was being tossed around like kids in a school cafeteria. When it came time to reading their fortune cookies, they each got up and actually started improvising by using x-rated words, and mentioning body parts as well-again, all in really loud voices. They even moved one of the restaurant's free-standing screens to block themselves off from the rest of the diners.
The waitress tried in vain to tell them to calm down to no avail.
One of the other dining parties left, complaining about the loud, foul language, the other party took their meal to go. We complained as well to our waitress, as this type of behaivor was insulting to my wife and both my daughters, who had to hear this filth being spewed.
We were offered another table on the other side of the restaurant. During the process of moving, I sought out the owner of the establishment, who was actually sitting on the other side as well, and I voiced my total displeasure to him. His response to me was, " What do you want me to do? This is Ocean City, Maryland, not New York. They paid their money just like you. I don't want to lose a $400 tab".
Unbelievable, right? We had to be inconvenienced by moving in the middle of our meal, our food at this point was cold, and our dining experience ruined on our last night of vacation.
As the drunken party left, they were actually thanked on the way out!
Yet, the owner never apologized to us, never offered to make up for our lousy time there, never said good night, did absolutely nothing.
After all, "what can he do?"
