I was called by a gentleman promising me a mastercard with a $5K limit in exchange for a one-time $279 fee. He claimed that I had until October 22 to pay — directly from my bank account only — and I would be guaranteed to receive this card. When I asked what bank would give me the card, he couldn't say, only said that it would be from a local bank.
While on the phone, I did an internet search and confirmed it was a scam. I quoted the FTC and told him I was not interested and do not call me again, but he continued to attempt to pursuade me to fall for him scam. I ultimately had to hang-up in order to get rid of the gentleman. I feel violated and will do whatever it takes to prevent other people from being scammed. Thank you.
