LSI pulled my credit and made an offer to refinance my home. Upon pulling my credit file they noticed there was a disputed item on my credit. I was told that as long as I had a letter from the disputed creditor stating the dispute was requested to be removed then we could proceed. I contacted said creditor and request dispute be removed, after obtaining letter of removal I forwarded to LSI. At this point LSI requested I pay for an Appraisal. I ask the account sales person from LSI along with my supposed account manager If there would be any Issues at all with this dispute still on my
credit file before I payed $450 for an appraisal. They both assured me that as long as they had the letter from creditor requesting the dispute be removed then the remark on my credit file would not be an issue. I paid them in good faith assuming they knew what they were talking about since they are a lending company. After the appraisal was paid and came in well above what was needed. LSI then Informed me they could not proceed until the dispute was removed from
my credit file. I worked very diligently with creditors an reporting agency's to get the dispute remarks removed. During this time LSI was pulling my credit file Multiple times for a total of 18 times. After 4 months of working on this I was able to get the dispute removed from credit file.By this time LSI had pulled my credit 18 times several of them without my approval lowering my credit score so far that I no longer qualify for a loan.in my opinion someone from LSI should have informed me from the start that they could not proceed with a loan until the dispute was removed from credit file.instead of ordering an appraisal knowing they could not do the loan with the dispute remark still on my credit. As a lending solutions company I would think they should be knowledgeable enough to know Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac would not accept a loan with a disputed credit remark. I know now. I feel like they took the appraisal money and ruined my credit.
