After re-contacting Wachovia Bank, this matter was handed over to their Corporate Fraud Investigations Dept. They were very helpful. They visited this web-site and saw all of our complaints. They even dug up my taped conversation with sleeze-bag #2 at Everest.By the way, Everest doesn't record the part where they tell you they are sending you a MasterCard, but don't worry.
It seems that Everest is not a client of Wachovia Bank. They do not have an account there. However, Netchex does, and it is Netchex who issued the refund. They will send you a letter which you have to sign and then mail, or fax back to them.
