I, too, was called by 1st Credit of Am. Wanting to settle my 2 year old delinquent bill of $565 for calls to a porn site (handled by alyon tech.) made in Nov. 2002. From other postings this was a popular month! They would "settle" for only $300 plus!
In any case the number was correct but she had no billing address nor would I give her one.
Of interest I use DSL but have a modem that's rarely used. Also use a firewall that would / should have detected if there was an out-going connection. Alyon's faq claims is someone would have to had clicked on the dialer and agreed to their online acceptance. No way!
I believe this same person called yesterday asking for a person that has never lived at this address. She then wanted to talk to the "owner" of the phone. I only respond to the first request. Today it was can I talk to Mr. Or Mrs...
Will be following the progress of this ripoff.
