This agency uses a computer to call you from different numbers. There is never a real person on the line and they ask you to hold while they get a representative. The call then refers you to an 888 282 1967 number, which plays crappy music while you wait. No message, no identifcation, nothing.
If you wait long enough, you get an illiterate rude person on the phone who demands your personal information and tells you that you owe them money.
There is never a compliance with any of the federal or state laws regarding debt collection practices, etc. After I told them that I did not owe them or their client any money and that I had proof that the debt was paid, the individual claimed that they were going to press criminal charges and that they would garnish my bank account that day if I did not give them a payment over the phone - immediately.
I told them to go aheaad and that I would sue the company and the representative and he hung up.
The computer called back about an hour later and I would not answer.
I have filed a complaint with the Atty General, the FTC, and the Office of the Consumer Credit Commissior here in Texas.
