Bank of America gave their marketing partner, Coverdell my bank account information and account number to debit my checking account for death and disability insurance. Coverdell told BOA that I authorized and agreed to this. I did not. BOA takes the word of their marketing partner. Who has interest at stake, over the word of the banks own customer. But, bank of America's customers are simply another tool. We are not people to them, we are simply a bank account to be pilfered and drained by unscrupulous business practices and deceptive marketing practices. I have been BOA's customer for over 15 years and this incident, that they are not taking responsibility for creating, has caused me to begin the process of moving all my accounts to another bank. I have contacted my states attorney general, Clark Howard and anyone who can help stop this theft by bank telemarketer problem.
Please check your statements. We have been billed 19.95 for almost a year and have never received anything in writing, not had we authorized Coverdell to debit our account. Coverdell says they have recordings on all their customers... But tapes can be easily manipulated and are no proof at all. Banks are getting desperate for moreMoney and in addition BoA raised my interest rate with perfect credit, simply because of "the economy".
It's time to take out business to people that will not plunder us silly and then blame the customer. We need legislation against this practice. Also, taped consent should be illegal. It is too easily forged by the person recording.
