IADT Broken dreams, false promises and a whole lot of debt

I feel like the International Academy of Design & Technology is a complete rip off. When I went to the school enrollment counselors back in 2003 they told me that their credits were transferable so that if I wanted to switch to USF further down the road then I could. Turns out that was a complete lie! After completing a BFA in Interior Design and accumulating over $80,000 in debt I was eager to get out in the job market and start paying of my debt working in my field - the only problem was I never got a job. They promised to set me up with a job after I graduated and I didnt get help I did it all on my own and never got any luck with a job in the design field. I tried to go back to school after searching for a design job for years and when I went to trader my credits to the liCal community college they said that it wasn't transferable. Talk about disappointment! I couldn't go back to school because I didn't have the funds to start over from scratch and my loans were just getting higher and higher with interest because I couldn't secure a good paying job and by that time the economy sank. So here I was without a job, a degree I couldn't use and Sallie Mae breathing down my back hassling me every hour on the hour till I could come up with some sort of payment plan. It's been hard and very stressful to say the least. I've gotten sick because I stress and worry about it all the time. I mean people chose education and going to college to better their lives not to cause stress and sickness. I feel like there is no hope for me and these student loans and I truly don't know how they're ever gonna get paid in full. IADT made me believe that I could have an amazing life after college. They never explained the student loans to me and made it seem like that price was totally normal and manageable. Students are gullible - especially us who came from other countries and didn't really understand the American way of doing things. They made it seem like it was the norm and they preyed on innocent students for an education that was so not worth that price. It just saddens me - sometimes I wish I could jump in a time machine and do over that immensely stupid decision to attend IADT and if I could give back my degree to cancel out my debt I would do it in a heartbeat...
