We have had a bank account with TCF for more than 15 years, where we held a little ($500) quantity of resources in order to gain access to them via check or ATM. The consideration was "free checking"—no-interest but no costs. After I examined my bill online-this weekend, I had been amazed to locate that TCF had transformed the conditions of the consideration and began receiving me $9.95 per month in costs six months before, without my permission. I visited a TCF department today. They returned 2 weeks of costs, but could not return further until I had been prepared to spend $5.00 for every regular record! We shut this consideration and therefore are starting a merchant account in a credit union. We dropped $40 in excessive costs, and certainly will never again be TCF clients. I suppose they are able to utilize our $40 to lure a brand new client having a $50 sign up bonus—seems like a losing business design in my experience.
