I deposited $320.00 on 8-5-04 into my checking account. On 8-6-04 I deposited $905.00. I wrote out all of my bills for the month, went grocery shopping and thought I had plenty of money in the bank. On 8-7-04 I received a letter in the mail stating that they were holding all of my money because I had had some overdraft charges in the past.
O.K. At this point I knew that I was going to be overdrawn. On 8-9-04 I went and deposited $405.00 and they held it too. I had the money to cover all of my purchases and to top it all off, the bank did pay some of them but charged me overdfraft fees. THE MONEY WAS IN MY ACCOUNT! I was in turmoil as what to do. I have been stressing because I have had problems in the past but thought I was finally going to get ahead and then this happens.
I do not see how they can rightly do this. Southtrust / Wachovia STINKS! Tomorrow I am going to go and take out what little bit of money I have left and close out this checking account. I have been a customer of theirs for about 10 years and then they want to treat me this way! They ended up charging me about $900.00 just in overdraft fees. I called them to see if we could work something out and they refused to work with me. Screw them.
