The trucks are not in condition

I drove for Al two weeks. He had me sign a statement saying that I was leasing his truck and responsible for my own taxes, and fill out a tax form. Al's pay went like this... The company that the truck was leased to pull for paid him. He then took out for fuel and split the rest between the two of us. He also said that he would split the cost of the port tires that had to be repaired. After the second week Al told me that the company that he was leasing my truck to (TXF Inc.) was not paying enough so he was going to lease my truck and 14 other trucks with a company out of Atlanta, Georgia at a much better pay scale. Al said that I would have to fill out a new app. For this new company, and also asked my wife if she wanted to drive for him too. He said that he needed 10 more driver's, and that it was to go from Savannah, GA. To Atlanta, GA. And back each day; all drop and hook. Now at this point let me explain how TFX, Inc. Was paying. They paid the owner $ 1.00 a mile loaded and. 70 empty. If you don't have your TWIC card to pick-up at the port they charge you $85.00 for someone else to bring the load to the yard for you. And they also charge you if the port trailer tires had to be repaired or replaced. Ofcouse the new company sounded good to me so I told a friend (Shad) about it and got him a app. To fill out too. Shad had heard both good and bad thing's about Al and wanted to see right up front how much Al was paying per load. So Shad called Al and asked what each load was paying. Al told him around $500.00. This sounded good ; right? So I called Al back and asked him how much could I expect to make a day? He said in a hard tone ' I don't know'. So I said will would it be like $ 150. To $ 175.? He said again in a hard tone ' NO '. So I said will would it be more like $100.? Again in a hard tone he said 'NO, and let me tell you something; there ain't nobody that is going to pay you $100. A day to go from Savannah to Atlanta'.' And I ain't going to take no driver talking to me like this'. (I had not raised my voice, used any foul language, nor anything out of the way.) So I said well I'll tell you what Al, I'll just bring you your truck. He said that's fine! Now while I was talking with Al my friend Shad was sitting; listening to the what was being said. When I hung up the phone Shad said oh h*ll no. He had another friend that already had one of Al's app's. He called his friend and told him what had just happened and that he heard the whole thing. Al lost 4 driver's with the way that he had spoken to me. Al knew how much the new company was going to pay him. He knew what the expenses would look like for fuel. With the agreement of the fuel coming off the top and splitting the pay from there how could the driver not make $100. A day? I don't care who you are the first question is ' how much am I going to make?' You want to see how he works? Just call Al's Truck & Trailer Repair 912-964-2240 and ask him how much you can expect to make a day or a week? You'll get a shady answer. Also Al's trucks are in bad condition. I had trouble trying to pull a 43,000 lb load. To tell the truth it wasn't easy just pulling an empty. I couldn't lock the door's, the air was out on the seats, and you couldn't ajust the seats, or the mirror's. And the steer tires are bad. I don't know how he could pass a DOT inspection. Al also uses another address: 354 Lakeshore Drive Guyton, Georgia 31312. And Suntex is on Gulfstream Drive Savannah, Georgia.
