After seeing my credit report and seeing American Credit Educators on it (A company I have not done business with) I contacted them for proof of debt - with no response. I then attempted to call them and found that there number is now a 900 number charging $1.50 per minute.
Based on this, I filed a complaint with the FTC consumer reporting office. Only one report has ever been filed with them concerning this company - they cannot help on an individual basis but if they see a number of complaints they can take action. I called the Denver BBB and have found that in the last 3 years the BBB Denver has received 454 complaints against this company.
