Attempted rip-off & remedy before they get your money

I was contacted by a Kaiwyn Harris from Everest Consumer Services on 8/5 about a Visa card with a $2,400.00 limit. She promised a percentage rate of not more than 12.99%. I could transfer the balance from another card onto this one. There was a fee of $299.00. If I gave her my bank account number she could not access the account without a routing number, so I was safe.

Like so many of you, I fell for it. But she gave me a call back number with an extension number of 9426 and 1-866-276-1478. She then gave me to the quick talking Jack Torrence. I was suspicious after he was on the line. I called back the number to find it was a "customer service" line and that the extension for Mrs. Harris does not exist. I wanted to cancel, but the Customer Service people couldn't guarantee that it would happen.

Well, people the only thing left to do is to close your account NOW. Do not wait. These people can indeed access your account without a routing number according to my bank. They can share your account information with other con artists. I closed my account withing an hour of the call. They didn't end up getting me after all, but they could have. Don't feel bad that you got took. Don't feel too embarrassed to act. Do what you can to stop these frauds. Good Luck.
