Having a similar experience. Had income tax refund deposited to 2 cards with no problem using them, now i tried to load $ onto the one card and they couldn't. Manager said it had maybe been too long since any was loaded. So i bought a new card and loaded the $ on that card. Went to activate online, got a message that my personal info could not be verified, and i would receive a refund check in the mail for what i loaded.
Took me 3 tries to get a person on the phone, i was told it was because when i lost my job 14 months ago, i stopped getting direct deposit and they couldn't verify my identity. I asked why they never contacted me to have me verify. They had no answer. I wanted to load the $ on the card to pay a utility bill on line, now that utility may be shut off because i couldn't do it when i wanted to.
I have only had minor problems with this card up to now, but this is a biggie.
Not sure yet what i'm going to do, i had better get my money back. After that, i don't know.
