Great America Companies
Thomas Pierson, Calvin Naylor, Susan Curtis Employment Opportunity - Work at Home

On 3/19 I received an email via Resume Rabbit from a "Calvin Naylor, " who identified himself as an "Assistant Hr Manager who represented Great America Companies. The email was in the form of a job posting for a Customer Service Associate position that would entail working from home. I was asked to answer several questions and forward my answers to an email address of [email protected]. This was the email address of which Calvin Naylor identified as "my boss." I received an email from Thomas Peterson (from his yahoo email) stating he was choosing to hire me. He then listed a bunch of computer equipment and explained to me he was going to have his "financier" send me a check to pay for these items and the check would be drawn from his "petty account." I was also instructed to send the money to Tigerdirect.com via Western Union as "CASH, " and I was to send this to the following individual: Patricia Peterson, in Plano, Texas, 75023.

I received a check on 3/27, and it appeared to be a fake. I took it to my bank (Chase), and they verified that the Cashier's Check, which was drawn on SunTrust Bank, was indeed bogus, and the individual it was supposedly sent to me from was "Susan Curtis, 3751 Matlock Rd, Dallas, TX 78333. The Fed Ex Envelope this check was sent from had the following information as the sending company: Worthington Aviation, 2995 Lone Oak Circle, Suite 10, Eagan, MN 55121.

I received a phone call from Mr. Peterson 3/27 at 12:01pm PST and he asked me if I had received his latest email and check. I told him I wasn't home and didn't know if the FedEx had arrived. He then sent me a text which appeared to be sent from the following number: 1 (410) 000-001, via his yahoo email account. His text asked me if I received his email. I responded with yes.

I did call Great America Companies to let them know about this situation, and I spoke with Marian. She said they had several of these scams happening using their company's information. She asked me to forward all my emails to her so she could forward them to the police. Be careful!
