Now I owe money for video's that were returned over two years ago!

I just received a collection notice from Universal Fidelity for a video company that has been out of business for over 2 years. I never received late notices in the mail or calls for this rental. This feels like a scam but what to do? Contact Better Business bureau? Maybe the Justice Department locally?
