It all started for me when after reading several very scary books about IRS harrasment and the way they can ruin even an honest persons life, I began hearing NADN commercials on WBT talk radio in Charlotte, NC.
The ads claimed that this company had "over a thousand" former IRS agents, lawyers and tax professionals at their disposal which for a relitavly small fee, would represent you in the unlikely event of an audit.
At the time, I was running a part time business out of my home, and was claiming the home office deduction. Of course this throws up a red flag to the IRS, and even though I was above board with all of my business transactions, I felt that having a company like NADN on my side would be a good idea.
All was well until about a year later. I got a call from Marc Hatcher with NADN. He had some big fancy title like "Director of tax stratagy" or something. After he pestered me for a week, I finally agreed to go ahead and purchase the shopN2000 web site. He assured me this was all legal and even produced copies of the congressional documents to prove it!
So, not having $2500.00 laying around, I put it on my credit card. They then did my taxes for 2001 and 2002. I was getting almost a full refund. Life was good, and as far as I knew, this was perfectly legal. Then when I called this year to see where my tax organizer was, I seemed to be getting the runaround.By the way, I just re-newed my 2 year membership in Feb.
So I send in my 2003 tex package and never got it back. I called once again on June 2, and got the recording that they were no longer in business! I almost had a heart attack right there in my office!
So here I am, along with God knows how many others, telling my story. This sucks!
Somebody please help us!
