I had the same thing happen to me recently as well. This time the person said their name was John Taylor with the FBI. They had a very heavy Indian Accent. They said that I had opened a check loan and never paid it back, that I committed fraud, and that they were going to arrest me. The called me at work, home, and on my cell phone numerous times. After I told them that I found a report on them on this website and that it was a scam they hung up on me. Then later they called from another number (626-384-3257) and I answered. It was the same person with a heavy indian accent that was so stupid that they used the same John Taylor name. After I told them I was reporting them to the FBI they hung up and then called back again. This time they were trying to be so slick and sound less official. They only asked for me by my first name and then was like hey, its me John, what's up? Don't fall for these people. They are trying to scare me into verifying personal information that they got on me to steal identities. I enrolled in Lifelock after the first call to protect myself and recommend that if anyone else is dealing with this to do the same. The FBI does not need to call you from halfway accross the country to threaten to arrest you. They can do that in person. Duh!
