I am writing this report on behalf of Dr. J Morris. She is too ill with Multiple Scelerosis to do it herself.
Dr. Morris was an Emergency Room Physician. Seven years ago she began to suffer severe fatigue and mental lapses. Eventually, she was served with her first malpractice suit. She immediately suffered a mental and physical breakdown. Her physician tentatively diagnosed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Dr. Morris had an "Own Occupation Policy". She met the requirements of disability if her work capability was reduced by only 20%.
UnumProvident insists that her disability is MENTAL only, and so subject to the 2-year limitation. Seven years of litigation later, Dr. Morris is destitute, collects social security because of her disability, and has yet to have received a single penny from this unscrupulous disability insurer.
Do not trust this company. This behavior is STANDARD for them!
