I logged into my Directexpress acct slightly after 1am on 8-7-11. I needed to purchase miscellaneous supplies for my service dog. I am homebound and dependent on the internet. Over half of my routine merchants refused to take the card this time, however. The charges were still deducted from my account. One merchant didn't know of my 3 attempts to purchase... $186 tied up and still no food for my service dog. I will make a copy of all transaction. ALL paypal purchases were denied stating they were not able to verify card??? I had no problem days before. I did not know of Directexpress's 'first - of-the-month proxy. I had $852 in the acct! I now must attempt to go pay all my bills in person. I am without my breathing meds and afraid to go out because of just one more refusal of my card. Customer service should be readily available. You have to 'go through the back' just to talk to a live person. Many won't know how to do this...

First of the month... We fail... Your loss.
